Birchwood Laboratories, Inc is pleased to announce the acquisition of LiquiCell® Technologies, Inc. of Eden Prairie, MN

Eden Prairie, Minnesota: LiquiCell is a medical technology that helps prevent skin tissues from being stretched or torn resulting in optimized blood flow. The ultra-thin cells contain a liquid that is in constant motion allowing the body to glide or float with an object both reducing shear and friction of the skin and improving blood perfusion to the tissues.

LiquiCell will be the core technology of a family of Birchwood products to address shear and friction and the role they play in skin breakdown. The first two products, a self-adhesive skin friction protector and shear reducing mattress overlay are anticipated to launch in quarters one and two of 2011.
